All-Stars lose to Moycullen

EJ Sligo All-Stars were beaten 74-63 by Moycullen in Saturday evening’s insuremyvan.ie men’s Superleague game at the Kingfisher Arena in Galway.

The proceeds from Saturday’s game went to the Hope4Liam fundraiser in the Galway area – which is raising funds for local sportsman Liam Davoren from Moycullen, who was seriously hurt in a Galway City Centre accident in December.

This was the All-Stars lowest points returns of the season so far – their average so far had been 90 points per game – but that low return was in large part due to an impressive defense performance by the home team.

Moycullen led 41-25 at half-time, but the All-Stars upped the attacking tempo in the third quarter quarter, closing the Moycullen lead to just three points.

However, in the final quarter, they were unable to get close enough on the scoreboard to turn the contest.
