Sligo Councillor seeks clarity on why parking charges cap has not been introduced at Hospitals



There’s disappointment among patients and visitors of Sligo University Hospital and elsewhere that the introduction of a cap on hospital car parking charges is to be further delayed.

 

The HSE undertook a national review of car parking charges five years ago, which recommended that hospitals should cap the maximum daily rate for parking at €10.

 

It also recommended the introduction of concessions for regular patients.

 

However it’s understood that the HSE is to re-establish its original working group on the issue with a view towards carrying out a review.
