Corach Rambler entered in Cheltenham Gold Cup

Corach Rambler, the horse ridden to victory in last year’s Aintree Grand National by Sligo jockey Derek Fox, has been entered for the 2024 Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Fox has already ridden Corach Rambler, trained by Lucinda Russell, to victory on the Cheltenham circuit on two previous occasions (2022 & 2023 in the Ultimo Handicap, but this will be the horse’s first tilt at the showpiece race of jump racing’s Olympics.

Fox’s success aboard Corach Rambler at both Aintree and Cheltenham in 2023 saw him named Ocean FM Sport’s Male Sportsperson of the Year last October.

Nine of the 20 horses entered for the Gold Cup are Irish, including last year’s winner Galopin Des Champs.

The 2024 Cheltenham festival takes place from March 12-15th this year – with the Gold Cup taking place on the final day, Friday the 15th.
