Four Masters win Ulster minor club title



Four Masters of Donegal won the Ulster. minor club football tournament for 2204 on New Year’s Day with a 1-10 to 2-4 victory over Cavan Gaels in Tuesday’s final, played at the host club, St Paul’s in west Belfast.

The Donegal town club, beaten finalists last year, went one step further this time around.

They become the first Donegal club to win the prestigious minor club football tournament since Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon did it in 1992.

Killybegs also previously won this tournament in 1984 and 1985.

The sides were level at half-time (1-4 to 2-1) but Four Masters were more purposeful in attack in the second-half-hour with Kevin Muldoon, Turlough Carr and Player of the Match Conor McCahill all prominent in helping their team to victory.
