Searches continue for missing Sligo woman

Searches are continuing today for a woman who has been missing from Sligo for over a week.

It’s believed mother-of-two Stephanie Sweeney entered the Garavogue River in the early hours of Friday morning December 22nd.

Groups have been searching for Ms Sweeney since then, dependent on the times of low tides.

The searches have been primarily focused along the quays and the channel at Sligo Bay with gatherings taking place twice a day.

A large number of volunteers have been taking part in the searches over Christmas week while The Sligo Bay RNLI, Rescue 118 and The River Moy Search and Rescue have also been involved in the operation.
