Oisín Gallen wins Gradam Shéamuis Mhic Géidigh



Oisín Gallen has been named as the 2023 recipient of the Gradam Shéamuis Mhic Géidigh.

Gallen’s performances for his club MacCumhaill’s during this year’s Michael Murphy Sports Leisure senior football championship saw him help the Ballybofey club reached the county semi-finals.

His personal tally of 1-9 in the championship quarter- final this year was one of the stand-out displays of the year.

Gallen, 23, from Ballybofey, played his first senior club championship match for his club in 2018 – and has become a mainstay of the Donegal senior

The Gradam Shéamuis Mhic Géidigh award is presented each year to the player of the Donegal Championship, as selected by a committee of sports journalists from the print and broadcast media in the county in memory of Raidió na Gaeltachta broadcaster Séamus Mac Géidigh, who died in 2016.

He was synonymous with Donegal GAA, and a voice of Gaelic Games in that county.
