Sligo native, Gerry O’Boyle, pays tribute to his close friend, Shane McGowan, whom he knew for many years through his involvement in the pub scene in London. Gerry visited Shane on a regular basis during his stay in hospital, and attended his funeral and cremation ceremony last weekend
