Two local schools reached All-Ireland basketball schools finals following exciting semi-final victories on Thursday afternoon.
Coláiste na Carraige (Donegal)’s girls under-16 team beat Claregalway 54-31 to advance to the national decider.
The Carrick school are the defending champions having won this competition last season.
Summerhill College of Sligo also had a good day.
Their boys U16 team advanced to the national final in January following a one-point win (39-38) against St Michael’s of Ballsbridge.
The Mercy College Sligo are also in semi-final action this Friday.
The finals will take place at the National Basketball Arena in Dublin in January.
