Local animal welfare charities set to benefit from €6M funding pot



A number of local animal welfare charities are set to benefit from Government supports announced today.

 

Agriculture Minister and Donegal TD Charlie McConalogue has confirmed that €6 million is to be shared among 101 animal welfare charities nationwide – an increase of €200,000 on last year.

 

Among the local highlights include just over €55,000 for Animals in Need Donegal Town, the Leitrim Animal Welfare Centre in Drumkeeran is to get €39,400 while the Sathya Sai Sanctuary Trust in Castlebaldwin is set to receive €43,000.
