Two arrests in connection with armed robbery in Sligo



Two people have been arrested in connection with last month’s armed robbery at the Adelaide Casino in Sligo.

 

An investigation is continuing into the incident which happened in the early hours of Monday November 20th.

 

Shortly after 2am that morning, two males wearing balaclavas entered the premises.

 

A staff member was threatened at knife point before both individuals fled on foot with a sum of cash.

 

A technical examination of the scene was conducted by the Scenes of Crime Unit.

 

Gardai have confirmed that two men, in their 20s, were arrested in relation to the incident and detained at a Garda station in the North Western region under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.

 

They have both since been released without charge.

 

A file is being prepared for submission to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

 

Gardai say that investigations ongoing.
