Finn Harps get cash injection for new stadium

The redevelopment of Finn Harps new stadium received a boost on Wednesday with an extra €693,550 being allocated to the project by the Government.

27 sports infrastructure projects are getting additional funding amounting to €37.6 million as part of the state’s Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund, in response to delays arising from the pandemic and construction inflation.

While an extra €10million went to Connacht Rugby and the redevelopment of Leinster’s home ground the RDS awarded €5million, Finn Harps have been granted an additional €693,550 for their stadium redevelopment, taking the total allocation from the State to €4.68million after €3.9million was granted in 2020.

Harps unveiled their stadium plans in 2021 for an €8 million development project.

Letterkenny’s Regional Sports Activities Hub has also received an additional €422,739 in Wednesday’s announcement.
