The Sinn Fein Deputy echoed calls of party leader which has called for accountability in the aftermath of the Dublin riots.

TD’s will debate and vote on the motion later in the Dáil.

The two independent TD’s in Sligo have confirmed how they will vote in this evening’s vote of no confidence in the Justice Minister Helen McEntee.

Sligo Leitrim Independent Deputy, Marian Harkin is paired for the vote while the current Independent, and former Fianna Fáil Deputy Marc MacSharry has pledged his support for Minister McEntee.

In a statement to OceanFM news , Deputy MacSharry says that while he totally condemns the thuggery and violence and hopes those responsible receive the full rigours of the law, now is not the time for throwing ministers and commissioners under the bus.

He  went on to add that he would prefer to see a proper debate on the urgent adjustments that are required to our policies on justice and immigration.
