Kelly withdraws, Coughlan ‘in’ for Donegal GAA Chair

Cieran Kelly has withdrawn his name from the race to become the next Chairperson of Donegal GAA.

A former county board Treasurer, Kelly confirmed his withdrawal on Social Media on Wednesday, on the same day that his St Naul’s clubmate and former Tánaiste, Mary Coughlan, told Donegal Live that she would be allowing her name to go forward for Chair at Annual Convention.

That means there will be two names on the ballot for the position of Chair: Mary Coughlan (St Naul’s) and Sean Dunnion (Four Masters).

They will succeed incumbent Fergus McGee (St Eunan’s) who’s stepped down after just one year in the role.

Donegal GAA Convention takes place on Wednesday, December 13th, in Jackson’s Hotel, Ballybofey.
