Local TD hopes assurances issued over the arrival of refugees will ease fears in Dromahair

A Sligo Leitrim TD says he hopes that yesterday assurances which were given to the Dromahair Concerned Residents Association will help to ease some of the concerns that exist in the local area over the arrival of refugees to the Abbey Manor Hotel.

The group have received written confirmation from the Minister with responsibility for Integration, Roderic O’Gorman that no refugees will arrive in Dromahair until there has been engagement between the Minister’s Department and the local residents group.

Fine Gael Deputy Frank Feighan was one of a number of local elected representatives that attended the meeting.

Speaking earlier to OceanFM news he said yesterday’s meeting was positive.
