Raymond Carden to step down as Sligo LGFA Chair

Sligo LGFA Chairperson Raymond Carden is stepping down from his role next month after four years in the role.

A statement issued on Wednesday evening confirmed that Carden, a member of the Eoghan Rua club in west Sligo, would not be seeking re-election at December’s AGM, citing family and work commitments as the reasons for his decision.

It’s understood that current Connacht LGFA Treasurer Martin Seery will be one of the candidates standing for the position of Chair when the Sligo LGFA AGM takes place on December 11th.

Sligo LGFA will mark 30 years of women’s gaelic football in the county this Saturday night (Nov 25th) when it hosts a 30-year Celebration Banquet at the Clayton Hotel in Sligo from 7pm.

Tickets, priced at €50, are available from Keith Gilroy on 0862247869.
