Large numbers attend Dromahair event to highlight concerns over refugees

A large number of people turned out in the north Leitrim village of Dromahair last night to highlight their concerns over imminent arrival of 155 refugees to the town.

The event was organised by the ‘Concerned Dromahair Residents Association’ and attracted people from the town and surrounding area.

Among the convers raised were the lack of perceived of facilities to cater for such a large increase in the population of the local area which currently stands at just under 800 people.

Local resident Fiona McPadden is the Mother of a young family she says increasing the population of the village by 150 is not practical.
