Former Tánaiste Mary Coughlan is one of three nominations to be the next Chairperson of Donegal GAA.
The county board has published the list of officer nominations for next month’s Annual Convention.
Coughlan and her fellow St Naul’s club colleague Cieran Kelly, along with Four Masters Sean Dunnion (who’s been Chairman before) are the three names put forward to succeed Fergus McGee.
McGee has already confirmed he’s stepping down from the Chair after one year in the role.
Coughlan has been deeply involved with her home club, St Naul’s, and has held the post of Club Secretary in recent years.
It’s not year clear if she will allow her name to go forward at Convention.
Alan Boyd is also leaving his post as Treasurer after completing his five-year term.
There are four names listed to replace him: Frankie Doherty, Grace Boyle, Former County Board Chair Mick McGrath and Buncrana’s Paul McGonigle
Damien Diver and McGonigle are also challenging Michael McGeehin for the post of Coaching Officer.
Former GAA Presidential candidate Niall Erskine of Killybegs, and Kilcar’s Martin McHugh have been nominated for the position of Central Council Officer, along with the incumbent Sean Dunnion.
Convention takes place on Wednesday December 13th, in Jackson’s Hotel, Ballybofey.
