Mohill edged out by St Brigid’s

Leitrim Connacht Gold senior football champions Mohill produced a courageously performance against St Brigid’s, which just fell short in Sunday’s Connacht senior club semi-final at Dr Hyde Park, the Roscommon champions winning by 1-7 to 0-8.

Mohill had led by 0-4 to 0-3 at half-time.

In the end, Ciarán Sugrue’s 46th minute goal, which was scrambled over the line, proved to be a critical score – as the Kiltoom men had to withstrand a strong rally from Mohill late on before closing out the win.

St Brigid’s will now face Corofin of Galway, managed by Sligo native Kevin Johnston, in two week’s time.

Weekend Connacht SFC club semi-final results
St Brigid’s (Roscommon) 1-7 Mohill (Leitrim) 0-8
