Easkey footballers beaten by Castlerea in Connacht semi-final

There was disappointment for Easkey footballers in Saturday’s Conancht intermediate club football semi-final at Markievcz Park as opponents Castlerea ST Kevin’s booked their place in the provincial decider with a 2-6 to 0-9 victory.

In challenging weather conditions for both teams, Adam McDermott’s two goals proved to be the decisive scores for Castlerea.

Easkey had their chances in this match but they will rue some of their missed opportunities when they look back at the DVD of the game.

The second intermediate semi-final is on Sunday, featuring Lahardane McHales of Mayo and Menlough of Galway (Tuam at 1:30pm

Easkey’s dual players will now dust themselves down and prepare for a Connacht junior club hurling final against Ballinasloe of Galway.
