GRA President says increasing numbers of resigning officers is no surprise

The President of the GRA says latest figures suggesting that the number of Gardaí resigning from the force is on the increase comes as no surprise to him.

The latest figure claim that 135 members have quit so far this year.

Last month alone, 13 Gardai resigned while a further 12 retired

There were a total of 107 resignations last year.

The Garda Representative Association says an increasing number of Gardaí are moving on because of low morale, unfair treatment, and work-related stress.

Donegal based President of the GRA Brendan O’Connor said the figures are not surprising.
