Donegal trio feature for Ireland over international window

Donegal trio Erin McLaughlin, Tyler Toland and Jodie Loughrey all featured for the Republic of Ireland throughout the most recent women’s international window.

McLaughlin, who has just won her first Women’s Premier Division medal with Peamount United, made her first start for the Girls in Green last night in a 1-0 win against Albania in treacherous conditions. She came off the bench in the reverse fixture, a 5-1 win in Tallaght Stadium last Friday.

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Toland, who is enjoying a renaissance in the green shirt after being recalled to the international scene by interim manager Eileen Gleeson, played 90 minutes in both games.

At underage level, Sligo Rovers winger Jodie Loughrey started all three games for the Republic of Ireland Under-19s, as they lost 2-0 to both Belgium, 4-0 to the Netherlands, but picked up a 4-0 win against the Faroe Islands in their European Championships Qualifying campaign.
