Rescue 118 responds to incident on Inch Island



Sligo-based Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 118 assisted in a multi-agency operation on Inch Island on Friday evening.

Shortly after 5pm, Lough Swilly RNLI were tasked by the Irish Coast Guard to a casualty.

A man had fallen onto rocks and could only be removed from the area by boat.

Following some medical treatment, the man was removed to the Rescue 118 helicopter.

The casualty was taken by the Rescue 118 helicopter to an ambulance waiting nearby and transferred to hospital for further treatment.

The public are being reminded that if they see anyone in difficulty in the sea or on the shore dial 112/ 999.
