Sligo University Hospital shines a light on baby loss awareness

Pink and blue lights shone at Sligo University Hospital last night as the hospital joined a global wave of light for International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day.

Both sides of the front building at the hospital were illuminated to remember babies who have died during pregnancy or after birth.

Every year on October 15th, various local, national and international organisations come together and organise events, educational programs, and various activities to create awareness.

By lighting up buildings all over the world, the display aims to connect thousands of families and to let them know that they are not alone.

Families joined at home too by lighting a candle.
