Suspicious Killybegs incident may be linked to major Cork drugs haul



A suspicious attempt to purchase a boat in Killybegs may be linked to the country’s largest ever drugs seizure off the coast of Cork.

 

It’s reported that two men made attempts to buy a boat in the fishing villager however the buyer pulled out of the deal last minute after having concerns.

 

Meanwhile, four men charged in connection with the drug seizure have been remanded in custody after appearing in court in Cork today.

 

Seven men have now appeared in court in relation to the case which saw the Army Ranger Wing board the MV Matthew cargo ship last week.

 

Garda Sergeant Paul Wallace says a link between the incident in Killybegs and Cork is not being ruled out:
