Donegal’s Gallen & McCole get All-Star nominations



Two Donegal footballers have received PWC GAA/GPA All-Star football nominations.

The list of 45 was published on Friday morning.

St Naul’s clubman Brendan McCole and one of the form players of the Donegal senior club football championship at the moment, Oisin Gallen of MacCumhaills have both made the nominations list.

All-Ireland champions Dublin lead the way with 10 nominations.

Beaten finalists Kerry have nine, Ulster champions Derry get seven while All-Ireland semi-finalists Monaghan receive 4.

Sligo, Clare and Louth and Sligo are the three Sam Maguire Cup teams absent from the list of nominees.

The Footballer of the Year nominees are: Brian Fenton (Dublin); David Clifford (Kerry) and Brendan Rogers (Derry).

Roscommon’s Conor Carroll is one of the three nominees for Young Footballer of the Year.

Derry supply the other two: Ethan Doherty and Eoghan McEvoy.

The All-Stars team will be announced on November 17th.
