Sligo-based Rescue 118 helicopter assisted in a multi-agency rescue operation on Saturday night.
Coordinated by AGS Belmullet, Rescue 118 was tasked to search for a person reported missing in Belmullet.
MRSC Malin were also tasked to the search.
After a lengthy search, a phone and some personal belongings were found shortly before the casualty was located alive but in need of medical attention.
Rescue 118 landed on the beach close to where the casualty was located.
The paramedic on board carried out a medical assessment on the casualty.
He was then airlifted and brought to Sligo University Hospital for further medical treatment.
