A man has been arrested following a hit and run incident in Bundoran in which a young boy was killed last night.
Nine year old Ronan Wilson died after being struck by a car that failed to remain at the scene.
The man is currently being detained at a Garda station in Donegal under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
A vehicle has also been seized in relation to the investigation and will undergo a technical examination.
Gardaí continue to appeal to any witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), and who were travelling in the area of Atlantic Way, Bundoran, yesterday evening between 8.45pm and 9.45pm, are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
