
Tourlestrane’s record-breaking champoinship run in the Homeland Sligo senior football championship came to an end on Saturday evening when they were beaten by Drumcliffe/Rosses Point in their concluding Group 2 match at Markievicz Park, on a final scoreline of 1-8 to 0-8.
The result, coupled with Coolera/Strandhill’s 2-17 to 1-9 success over Tubbercurry saw three teams (Tourlestrane, DRP and Coolera) finish level on six points in Group 2.
The head-to-head scoring difference in the games between the three teams was also level – each team finished with a scoring difference of zero.
It’s the scores for in the head-to-head matches which send Coolera/Strandhill and Drumcliffe/Rosses Point through to the county semi-finals at Tourlestrane’s expense.

The reigning champions, where bidding for an eighth consecutive Sligo senior football title, hadn’t lost a championship since 2015 prior to Saturday.
That record-breaking run in Sligo club football has now come to an end.
