The Labour Party has confirmed that Bernie Linnane, has been selected to run for the local election in the Manorhamilton Municipal District.
The local area representative lives in Dromahair, and has been involved in local politics and various campaigns for many years.
In a statement the Kildare native said she was honoured to contest the elections and expressed her excitement at being afforded the opportunity to represent the people of this area.
She says she will be including issues such as responsible planning and sustainable building development with the preservation of the natural environment in her election manifesto.
