Sligo Rovers get vital league win against students

Sligo Rovers secured a badly-needed home victory in Saturday night’s SSE Airtricity Premier Division game at the Showgrounds with a 2-0 win against bottom-of-the-table.

An own-goal in the first half, and a fine strike from substitute Kailin Barlow in the second, secured three vital points for John Russell’s side as they look to preserve their Premier Division status.

2091 supporters watched the game.

The club’s Annual Draw as also made at half-time – the draw this year raised an impressive €108,000 for Rovers.
