Glencar/Manor lose but still reach Leitrim quarter-finals

Glencar/Manorhamilton suffered a 2-9 to 1-9 loss to Leitrim Gaels in their concluding round-robin game but still managed to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Leitrim Connacht Gold senior football championship, thanks to favourable results elsewhere.

Dromahair’s 0-9 to 0-6 win over Aughnasheelin was the key one – as it helped ensure Glencar/Manor held onto a top-six finish.

A fit-again Ryan O’Rourke inspired Division 1 league winners Fenagh St Caillin’s to 1-17 to 1-11 win over Ballinamore Sean O’Heslins to secure their place in the knockout stages.

In the rematch of last year’s county final, Eamonn O’Hara’s Mohill beat holders St Mary’s by 1-11 to 0-11 to secure top spot in the final group standings and a place in the county semi-finals.

Mary’s will join them in the last four despite suffering their first defeat of the round-robin stage.
