Ballymote’s Brian Colsh wins World Championship gold



Ballymote rower Brian Colsh won gold at the World Under 23 Rowing Championships in Bulgaria on Sunday morning.

Colsh, who’s a member of University of Galway BC teamed up alongside Queen’s Rowing’s Konan Pazzia to sprint clear to win to the men’s double sculls.

Colsh has achieved a meteoric rise through the rowing ranks.

In 2021, the 21-year-old was selected to travel to the Under 23 World Championships as a spare man while in 2022, he won bronze alongside Pazzala in the men’s double sculls.
