Retained Fire Fighters likely to reject Labour Court recommendation



 

A return to Strike action by retained firefighters across the north west could be on the way following recommendations from the Labour Court.

 

SIPTU firefighters are expressing their concerns are not being met in relation to pay and training.

 

Members in the retained service believe the content of the Labour Court recommendation in relation to the many issues in the service is a major disappointment.

 

Firefighters will ballot on Labour Court recommendations over the coming days saying their needs are not being taken seriously.

 

OceanFM news understands from talking to locally-based retained firefighters that they will reject the recommendations with some sources predicting strike action likely to take place.
