Half a million people expected to attend July 12th parades in the North



An estimated half a million people are expected to participate or spectate in 12th of July parades across the north today

 

Up to 600 marching bands, will step out at the various locations commemorating the 333rd anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne.

This year, 19 venues in Northern Ireland will be playing host to processions to mark the Twelfth.

 

Some of the main demonstrations are scheduled for Belfast, Lurgan and Enniskillen.

 

The only annual Orange parade in the Republic of Ireland took place on Saturday last.

Orange lodges from counties Donegal, Monaghan and Cavan – along with guests from Northern Ireland – took part in the seaside procession in Rossnowlagh.
