Sligo reach All-Ireland U16 final

Sligo girls under-16 gaelic footballers are through to an All-Ireland ‘B’ championship final following Wednesday evening’s 4-7 to 1-14 win over Armagh at Templeport in county Cavan.

Four first-half goals proved key for Gerard Mullaney’s side although they had to withstand a spirited second-half comeback from the Orchard County girls before edging to victory by two points.

The victory sets up an All-Ireland final meeting with Kerry, who beat Meath in Wednesday’s other ‘B’ semi-final.

In the U16 championship semi-final played at Lisnaskea, there was disappointment for Leitrim as they were completely outplayed by Antrim.
