Cora Rooney competes at European Junior Swimming Championships



Ballyshannon’s Cora Rooney will compete for Ireland at this week’s European Junior Swimming Championships in Ireland.

Rooney, who swims out of the Enniskillen Lakelanders club in Fermanagh, swims in the heats of the women’s 50 metres backstroke on Tuesday.

Coached by her mum Sinead, Cora recently completed her Leaving Certificate at Coláiste Cholmcille in Ballyshannon.

She is one of 12 Irish swimmers selected for the Junior Euros, which are taking place

The Championships run until Sunday, July 9th.
