Donegal’s Kelly McGrory second in European Games heat



Tir Chonaill Athletic Club’s Kelly McGrory finished second in Wednesday morning’s heat of the women’s 400 metres hurdles at the European Games in Poland.

The Laghey woman clocked a time of 58.08 seconds in finishing behind Austria’s Lena Pressler (57.02 secs) – which earns valuable points for Team Ireland.

McGrory is also competing in the 400m relay for Ireland this week in Chorzow.

McGrory’s partner, Thomas Barr, won his 400 metres hurdles heat on Wednesday in 49.41 seconds.

Ireland has a team of 44 track and field athletes competing in Division 3 of the European Games.

The team is targeting promotion to Division 2 in Poland this week.
