GAA turns down Galway & Armagh request to move Carrick game

The GAA has  turned down a request from Armagh and Galway to have their All-Ireland SFC group 2 game moved from Carrick-on-Shannon to Croke Park.

The counties had made a joint request earlier on Thursday that the game next Sunday week, June 18th, be moved from Carrick-on-Shannon to Croke Park.

It’s understood both Armagh and Galway cited potential attendance capacity issues with the Leitrim venue – and they signalled Croke Park as their preferred alternative.

However, that joint request was rejected by Croke Park officials.

The Galway-Armagh game match is scheduled to throw-in at 4pm on Sunday, June 18th – and is being played at the same time as the other Group 2 match, Tyrone v Westmeath, at Kingspan Breffni.
