Ballisodare United relegated from Super League

Ballisodare United’s 14-year stay in the Sligo Leitrim Southern Hotel Super League  came to an end on Wednesday night following a 4-3 defeat to Strand Celtic in Strandhill.

United needed a win in what was their final league fixture of the season to avoid automatic relegation along with Aughanagh Celtic, who are already down.

Ballisodare pushed hard in this game and goals from Darragh Healy, Gary Anderson and Adam Grace keep their firmly in the contest but Strand, in the end, collected the three points.

The result means Ballisodare will join Aughanagh Celtic in the Sligo Pallets Premier League next season.

Third from bottom Coolaney United will face Glenview Stars in the promotion/relegation play-off on Friday evening at Ray MacSharry Park (7pm).
