Officials at the Department of Health have been branded ‘lazy’ over failing to provide funding to North West STOP.
The community based organisation in Sligo currently receives no Government funding while Pieta House, which doesn’t deliver a direct service to Sligo or Leitrim, does.
It’s been a bone of contention locally for a number of years with all six Councillors in the region highlighting the issue at the latest sitting of the Regional Health Forum West.
