Sligo get battling draw against Kildare

A point from substitute David Quinn in the last move of the match rescued a point for Sligo senior gaelic footballers in Sunday’s entertaing All-Ireland SFC Group 3 opener against Kildare at Markievicz Park.

Shamrock Gaels clubman Quinn fired over the equalising point in the dying seconds of added time to give Sligo a deserved share of the spoils on a final scoreline of Sligo 0-14 Kildare 0-14.

Sligo are in a four-team Group 3 which also includes Roscommon and Dublin.

They’ll play Roscommon on Saturday, June 3rd at Dr Hyde Park – with the game against Dublin to come at a neutral venue on June 17th.

The top three teams in the group will qualify for the knockout quarter-final phase of the All-Ireland series.
