Sligo Rovers lose 1-0 in Cork

Sligo Rovers suffered a third consecutive defeat in the SSE Airtricity Premier Division on Friday night, going down 1-0 to Cork City at Turners Cross.

Former Rovers Academy player, Ruairi Keating, was Cork’s matchwinner with a fine finish on 15 minutes.

Rovers searched hard for an equaliser but, in the absence of the injured Max Mata, they lacked any real threat in front of goal.

Manager John Russell spoke to Ocean FM Sport’s Austin O’Callaghan after the game.
