Ballisodare residents question if adequate infrastructure is in place to cater for 120 Asylum seekers.

Concern is being expressed in the Sligo village of Ballisodare over the possible arrival of 120 Asylum seekers.

OceanFM news understand that the issue was discussed at meeting of the local Community Council last night.

A number of local elected representatives also attend the meeting where disappointment was expressed over the lack of communications with local residents and schools in relation to the Asylum seekers being placed in the area.

Concern was also expressed on whether the adequate infrastructure is not in place to cater for the 120 men that it is believed will be housed at different locations in the village.

Meetings are now being sought with the community Council, local County Councillors and the Service Provider to establish more facts.
