Leitrim’s three-in-a-row bid falls short

Leitrim’s bid for a three-in-a-row of Connacht LGFA intermediate football titles fell short on Sunday as they lost out to Roscommon on a final scoreline of 2-13 to 1-7 in Kiltoom.

Leitrim had won the previous two provincial intermediate titles, having beaten Roscommon in the final each time.

But this time around, Roscommon – competing two divisions higher than Leitrim in the national league – finished the stronger.

The concession of goals cost Leitrim dearly in the end as team manager Jonny Garrity explained to Ocean FM Sport’s PJ Leddy after the game.
