Donegal women’s gaelic footballers made a winning start to their TG4 Ulster LGFA senior football championship campaign on Sunday with a 1-6 to 0-4 win over Cavan at Kingspan Breffni.
In a low-scoring game, Karen Guthrie’s goal proved to be a decisive one as Donegal eeked out a five-point win.
Just three Ulster counties are contesting the Ulster SFC this season with holders Armagh due to play Maxi Curran’s side next weekend.
