€5M for Knock Airport

Ireland West Airport Knock is to get just over 5 million euro under the Regional Airports Programme.

It’s part of a national 17 million euro funding pot.

Junior Minister Jack Chambers – who has special responsibility for aviation – has defended the government’s allocation, in terms of aviation’s impact on the environment.

He says investment in regional hubs is essential for the country’s economic growth, as Ireland is an island nation.
