Urgent calls for Vacant Homes Officer to be appointed in Donegal



A Donegal County councillor is calling on the local authority to appoint a Vacant Homes Officer as soon as possible in order to address the expected increase in people seeking accommodation with the lifting of the eviction ban.

 

Independent Donegal MD Councillor Niamh Kennedy has made the calls after it was revealed last week that several local authorities across the country are reporting having very limited accommodation to cater for an increased demand in the coming months

 

It’s hoped that a vacant homes officer will be appointed In the coming weeks to identify and bring vacant and derelict homes back into use.
