Sister of Mary Boyle calls for inquest and investigation

The twin-sister of missing Donegal schoolgirl Mary Boyle is calling for an inquest and murder investigation into the case.

Today is the 46th anniversary of the six-year-old’s disappearance.

She vanished from her grandmother’s home in Ballyshannon on March 18th, 1977 – and there’s been no trace of her since then.

Back in  2018 Detectives launched a renewed bid to solve the Republic’s longest-running missing person case.

Gardaí at the time appeaded to the public for assistance with the case.

On the day she disappeared  Mary had been following her uncle who had gone to a neighbour’s house to return a ladder. Half-way through the journey she told her uncle she was turning back, and was never seen again.

Ann Doherty is appealing for information on her twin-sister’s disappearance.
