There’s concern that not enough is being done in monitoring dog ownership in council owned properties in Sligo.
Cllr Donal Gilroy has claimed that while he has tried to ascertain Council records in this regard, no such details are available.
According to current regulations, only one dog is allowed to be kept in a local authority home.
However, Cllr Gilroy is of the belief that in some cases, there are many dogs under one roof and he says this could result in many problems.
