Higher and Further Education colleges to roll out Active Consent classes

Active Consent classes are being rolled out in Higher, Further Education and Training colleges across the country from today.

Minister for Further and Higher Education Simon Harris made the announcement after new figures revealed 22,000 higher education students took part in the initiative last year, a 15 per cent increase on 2021/22.

ATU Sligo Campus is just one of many colleges providing consent classes this week.

ATU Sligo Students Union President Daire Martin says the college has previously provided and will continue to provide consent classes for students and staff to ensure a safe environment.
